DHH Held Lecture on “The Legal Analysis of Baidu’s Bidding Rank Practice – Wei Zexi Case as An Example”

May 18, 2016, Mr. Yao Kefeng, Director of Information Technology and Innovative Technology Practice Team, held a lecture on Baidu’s “bidding rank” practice and its legal consequences. Members of various practice groups participated in this lecture. Mr. Yao analyzed how Baidu, as China’s largest search engine, abused its market dominance in the search engine market by aggressively practicing bidding rank in various areas and gained huge commercial benefits through such abuse. Bidding rank is a way of promoting commercial products to the general public by prioritizing certain paid advertisements. This act of advertisement is regulated by the Advertisement Law. As a most trusted attorney chosen by multiple major internet companies in China, Mr. Yao gave a well rounded presentation of unfair competition among internet giants in a rapidly growing market.
